Wow, this takes me back!  I remember going to the skateboard shop every Saturday and just inhaling the urethane fumes.  I was obsessed with wheels for some reason - they were like sweets in a confectioners!  I ended up with a home-made board with ACS651 trucks and Kryptonic Reds 60mm.

I made my own first board out of a plank and an old pair of roller skates.

I used to lust after a set of white 'Bones' wheels, but never got them.

We always used to dream of a skateboard park getting built, but that never happened either.  Drooling over photos of huge American custom-built parks....

Always were so jealous of the vast and well thought out parks the yanks had even back in the 70's. My folks took me and a mate a few times to Wickstead in Kettering, which to be fair was pretty good!

worth taking a trip to Adrenaline Alley in Corby. It's an awesome place for skateboarding, BMX, scooter, inline etc.
