I’ve thought long and hard about this but it’s just not getting played. I’m not desperate to move it on but interested to find out if there’s anything of interest out there as a possible trade.

With its deep body and single P90, this lovely old thing is really more cut out for a jazz setting. It's a lovely guitar that had a neck break that's been professionally repaired and it seems completely stable now. It's also had a very nice regret as well as a new nut and a washer fitted on the jack plug and that now seems solid too. As far as I can tell, that's the only modifications it's had. I'd say it's in good overall condition for its age with no other cracks or significant bashes.

I'm based up in Edinburgh if you want to give it a try. I'd prefer collection if possible or meet somewhere halfway.

Despite the neck repair, this is a lovely guitar that would suit a jazz player looking for a long term playing partner. I’m not sure what I’m looking at for a trade or PX. Maybe a Ric or a nice 335/330/Casino type thing. Maybe another telecaster but not sure about that. I could be interested in another Princeton or Vibrochamp type thing but nothing bigger than that. But willing to listen to any offers.

PM me if you have more specific questions regarding the guitar and I’ll try my best to answer.

Examples of these are getting rarer and rarer and prices are reflecting this. If this was hanging on a shop wall, it would be getting very close to £2K so I’m looking at. Trade value of £1700 and. Bit less for a sale but depends where you are as I’m very, very reluctant to courier it.

Cheers,

cam f

Added some unflattering pics to show the worst of the headstock repair. It's solid and you don't notice it at all when playing.

I fancy it... but you'd probably prefer to deal with someone that has either money or guitars to give you in return!!! :D

LOL! You've even seen and heard it in action. I'm still on the search for my (hopefully) forever guitar and I reckon that whatever that is, it will need a fixed or at least pinned adjustable bridge. A Gretsch Annie or Country Gentleman, an ES-330 or maybe an ES-335 is currently top of my list. It won't be terrible to keep the ES-125... it's cute. :)

Hmmm. Maybe. I've not bumped the advert because I'd pretty much decided to keep it. But with my Gretsch getting all the love these days, I don't need it.

Hiya. Which Gretsch did you go for in the end?. I've had a few and finally found the Brian Setzer nashville was what I'd been looking for..Anyhow I'm looking for a Gibson archtop..but on a buget and would be interested in your guitar. I'm in Glasgow. Let me know if your interested in a potential sale.
    Thanks Jeremy.

I've recently got a Country Club in Cadillac Green, with TV Jones T'Armond pickups. I love it. Are you through in Edinburgh at all? Happy to meet up and let you try out the ES-125 and see what you think. I'm through in Glasgow now and then so I could maybe meet you in Glasgow but I've no plans to be through any time in the next couple of weeks.

Love my thin '61 version, it gets a lot of play time. It's strange but, the intonation is out (really finicky to keep it set exactly with a floating bridge) yet it always sounds incredibly sweet wherever I play chords. Fabulous guitars, and to think they were Gibson's student model back in the day.

Looks like I’ve got me a guitar, so this lovely old thing will be off to hang on a guitar shop window soon. Any offers before then?
