I've listened to this song for years and only recently noticed it even has a solo...

I've listened to that song since I was small, probably eight years old. My dad used to have some kind of power ballad compilation CD in the car, and this was on it - always liked the song, but it was only from listening to it in the last couple of months that I realised there's actually a guitar solo at the end (3:45) - more to the point, quite a shreddy one. It sounds like there might even be sweep arpeggios in there. I guess I didn't notice it because it sits quite low in the mix, under the vocals, but still... it's a hell of a thing to miss.

I remember the song well, my pal was a bit obsessed with it. I don't recall a solo, I'll have to come back and give it a listen after work

I always think that's the mark of a good solo. It should compliment the song, not dominate it.

I thought it might be him as he was Farnham's long-time tour guitarist.

If you're not aware of him Connor @Bucket, he's the Legato King!!! Check out the Mike Varney label record "Centrifugal Funk". It features Garsed, Frank Gambale and the late Shawn Lane. The track to listen to is "So What" and Garsed takes the first solo and what a solo!

I have Heart's first 8 albums dating from 1976, superb band one of Seattles finest, I have the Rock the House Live album too which is also excellent..

Nancy and Ann as The Lovemongers also very good

How funny, I hadn't realised that song had a guitar solo either, probably because he sings over it. Love the fretless bass on it.

If it's Garsed, those aren't quite sweep arpeggios, he uses hybrid picking. Check his REH instructional video.
