In 25 years of playing les Pauls, SGs and most recently 335s hard, I've never had tuning issues that apparently blights this design fault...

I'm with you on that, currently have SG, junior, 2 Les Paul's and an explorer (shape) no issues at all.

Now I'm not a bible basher at all, not even religious but I'd prefer a guitar that stays in tune than one that goes all shonky, and that little piece of metal wouldn't offend me in the slightest.
