Wierd and Wonderful. Any suggestions?

I play guitar in a brit pop/indie covers band. Im sick of the same sunburst, red and black, teles, strats, les pauls and other mainstream guitars. after something out of the ordinary. I would consider a weird finish or peculiar model on one of these but not something you see everyday. im lacking inspiration, any suggestions? my budget is around 1800 quid. I don't want any thing that's gonna depreciate quicker than an Alfa Romeo either... I know it sounds a lot given I want weird but not ''that'' weird!!!  cheers in advance!

Rickenbacker or Gretsch. Different enough to not be all that common but great guitars that will still be worth at least something when you inevitably come to sell to finance one of those boring guitars again.

had a jag @CHRISB50 isn't it funny when you get something the more you see of it?? @trotter I was torn between a ricky 660 and 480 those are a bit above my budget at the moment though. a firebird looks good but I fell out with my sg and ive heard they play similar is this right @sweepy ?

I love the way they look, they come with lots of pickup flavours & are apparently incredibly comfortable to play. IIRC Mike Einzinger of Incubus plays them now as he developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome & this was the only model of guitar he can comfortably play.

What do you like/look for in a guitar? Single coil/buckers/ this neck/etc? Maybe vintage Hagstrom or some repo from Eastwood?

Wisdom on the EBMM Albert Lee. The dual humbucker model is also very nice.

I was about to suggest this. 
Amazing guitars and would not look out of place in an indie band at all.
