Just a cautionary FYI. There have been two incidents that I know of recently of otherwise standard batteries, a PP3 and an AA going bang. The AA (on Fake Britain) actually spewed out burning foil.

It seems these batteries were fakes so you guys with pedals make sure you buy top quality from a reputable source. A quid saved could destroy a £200 pedal or burn the pub down!

I only buy proper Duracells. Costco do them cheap enough that it's worth the annual membership fee just for a couple of dozen PP3s!

I only buy The SuperKord-500™ SD-II UK mains & W350i Ag HC from Russ Andrews. The 24 hyper-pure copper Kimber Kable conductors, separately insulated and arranged in wide-format woven geometry, make it well worth the price.

Unfortunately Amazon is awash with fakes, as is Ebay  .... sometimes the guys selling the stuff don't know they are fake, sometimes they do. I've even seen fake stuff on CPC ..... it's a minefield these days

Rechargeables have their problems as I mentioned before. If a short fault develops in the kit the batteries will supply 10+ amps and destroy it. 

Unlikely I agree but it happened to me! BTW Maplin often have decent offers on batteries . SHOULD be a reliable source!
