I'd recommend the first two SOS Band albums, title The SOS Band and Too.  Their later work, especially Sands of Time, is one of my favourite ever "non-guitar" albums ever and their best album, but it leans more towards funk.

Band I'm in seldom do covers, but occasionally we do I Will Survive - which gets everyone up dancing mental. Only we do it like Cake...
