Power supply

I just bought a Ciosk DC5 power supply.  I was not convinced that my pedals were sounding that good daisy chained with the Boss PSA power supply I have had for years and I had seen that OCD would sound better at 18v.

I plugged it all in and to my ears it sounds far better.

So here is my question.  Am I just trying to justify to myself that spending money on a power supply actually is better or does it not make any difference?  What are your experiences?

It definitely does make a difference. I've just bought a Voodoo Labs 4x4 to replace several wall warts. My board sounds different now: no hum at all for a start, but the drives sound better too. I guess the supply voltage is either higher or more stable.
