D’addario do wound third sets. Strings direct have them atleast.
11-49 with a wound g which is .21.
A standard d string off a .09 set is .24.
So possibly given the fact its slimmer but tuned higher in pitch, could be a fairly accurate comparison? I’m not sure though.
I only used a wound g once, when I tuned an Esp with a floyd to drop C.
A plain g of .20 or something just didnt work. Sounded dead, didnt ring at all, more a horrible oscillating. Apparantly it was the plain g at that pitch over that scale length that caused the trouble, and the cure was a wrapped G.
