There's a small dint in the nitro on the back of the neck of my Gibson LP Traditional. It's small, not deep, does not go into the wood of the neck, but annoying every time I feel it with my thumb when I'm playing. Is there anything I can do to remove it?

    The word remove implies bringing all of the surrounding finish down to the same level as the ding. The usual remedy is to fill the depression with nitro-cellulose. Build up the thickness in multiple thin coats until the ding is overfilled. Once the the new nitro is dried, carefully dress the overfill back to the same level as the original finish.

    Some cheapskates try this repair method using superglue.
    You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

    @Funkfingers has the right idea.

    I can give you a small jar of lacquer FoC but postage is expensive.

    Please don't ever use superglue on a cellulose finish.

    Thanks for advice, guys. I think it'll be one of things that I'll probably mess up if I do it myself, so I'll live with it for now and then take to an expert eventually. :/ Thanks for offer of jar @SteveRobinson :-)
