Where do people recommend for bits and pieces - wiring, CTS pots that won't break the bank, and other stuff like scratchplates etc.?

I've bought iron gear pickups, pots and wiring from Axetec recently for a project guitar. They were good.

Axesrus are pretty reliable as are Axecaster

Axetec, Axesrus, Axecaster are the main three. Blackdog can be cheaper, but with a more limited range. For capacitors and resistors it’s worth looking at CPC, and buying a lifetime supply. Oil City carry a limited range of CTS pots, so if you’re buying their pickups and want a pot to go with them then you can save on postage.
