Why are volume pedals so damned expensive?

Out of interest, where are most people placing volume pedals?  Pre or post dirt?  It's one pedal I've never felt the need for, but maybe I'm missing something.

My normal approach is to have one boost before drive pedals (EP boost) and another clean one in the loop for a fixed solo boost.  Everything else I do via guitar volume knobs.

I mostly read about volume pedals, but yes, your article is looking fine with little but comprehensive knowledge. Here, you can also see the numerous affordable volume pedals also. I like the Yamaha one with reasonable price and trusted features.

You'd think some enterprising manufacturer would make a guitar that actually contains the innards of a volume pedal. I'm sure it could be done quite easily, and I would definitely buy one.
