    TBH I haven't actually played through it yet. The first thing I did was get the chassis out to make sure it was pukkah. You'd think whoever fitted the grid stoppers would have a) put them in the right place and b) checked the bias while it was on the bench.

    You would, but Fender fitted them at the circuit board end on the Tonemaster as well…!

    Are you checking it in the full-power/solid-state rectifier mode?
