That's the thought that entered my mind.
With an R8 being the Pinnacle of modern day ownership why would you buy another Les Paul?
Yeah it's a good guitar etc etc but you've got a frickin R8!

Actually I disagree about the R8 being the pinnacle. The R7 I have is marginally better. 

But let’s face it, everyone knows the R9 is in fact the one guitar to rule them all...!

Had a very cathartic experience today doing the gear of 2017 thread. I have way too much stuff. Even with a severe cut down to the guitars I actually play regularly there will still be 7 electrics and two acoustics. So this could be on the way out...

I still think that my fretboard Santa idea was the way forward, although I am increasingly open to ‘Ellwood’s guitar borrowing library’ -that also has potential for this here parish.
