Nothing bigger than what?. I'm guessing a vertical 2x12 would be too narrow for the head? 

You know Dave Buckley don't you? I made his orange vertical 2x12. I have two shells identical that could be covered and grille cloth fitted to match the Friedman.

I think that would work but it ends up quite an expensive way of going about it  but I may be sorted.........will let you know if not
