  • Nirvana's Endless, Nameless.. Not because the song is scary but because I have this habit of falling asleep whilst listening to Nevermind and then getting woken up as soon as the drums kick in on said song.
Sadly enough it's happened a few times.

  • Might come as an odd choice, but I remember seeing her perform this on TV at T4 On The Beach some years back, with the burned out shell of the old Weston Pier in the background. Something about the haunting strings in the song together with the old burnt out structure gave me a chill and makes me thing of it burning down when I hear the song, especially when the camera panned past/zoomed in on the pier.

  • When I was a kid, my dad used to listen to this in the dark.  Imagine you are 6 and listen from about 11 mins.

  • Bible Black by Black Sabbath (aka Heaven & Hell)

Great spooky lyrics. Love the line "another bite of wrong". Song is about someone dabbling in dark forces that are too much for them to control. Typical Sabbath fair one supposes, but I think this is one of their best stabs at this kind of thing.

I started training as a teacher at one time. For one of my teaching practices I was working with a class of 9 year olds, doing a project about how different types of music can affect you emotionally. I played them Careful with that axe Eugene. Probably not the best idea on reflection, I'm sure quite a few of them had nightmares afterwards.

Great song from Floyd. One of my favourites. Poor dears dont know a good thing when it hits them.  :o

I hope you played them ‘One of These Days’ before playing ‘Careful ...’
