The ash/maple combo delivers killer Strat cluck and chime, but there's an added bite and richness to the tone that other Strats don't possess. It's hard to put a finger on, but you can definitely feel and hear the difference. This is a very lively, resonant guitar with beautiful tones, feel, and playability.

The overall build quality is excellent as is the D carved neck. A fat-Gibson-esque carve with excellent fret work that yields a very fast, comfortable, slinky feel. The neck is definitely more of a handful than on a typical Strat-type guitar and transmits great sustain and tone.

The guitar benefits from a relic treatment with some really lovely lacquer checking and the colour is unique and truly lovely.

Importantly, the ’62 is no longer in Echopark’s catalogue and was already very scarce compared to the Clarence model. This is therefore, genuinely, a guitar that could appreciate in value especially now that Echopark's profile is increasing with it being the brand of choice for Aerosmith and QOTSA. 

Expensive? Yes, but so are masterbuilt CS Stratocasters. There are just 2 other '62s for sale in the world right now. A new one is up for $6,200 which equates to £6,000 by the time it reaches your door. The other is on Reverb at £5,751.12 plus shipping (let's say £150) and taxes of 22.5% so it'll be £7,200 when it arrives. Mind you offers are welcome!
