    Sing it with me:

    Oiled necks and big frets and nice locking tuners;
    Rolled fretboard edges and upper fret access;
    Strat knobs and ebony, new shiny strings,
    These are a few of my favourite things...
    I sang it. Probably not to the tune you imagined. Hmm.

    Split level scratchplates and a 1950's diner-style plastic logo saying 'Rickenbacker' on the headstock.
    Floating trems and creaky bridges that most people seem to hate if not fear on a Jazzmaster.
    Bigsbys and f-holes.
    Fluorescent psychedelic paint jobs on non-pointy, non-genre-specific Fender types.
    Twice as many strings than usual.
    Generally therefore, what my guitar collection comprises!

    Some of them are topped with rosewood. Mine isn't - it's maple all the way through.

    Never tried these but on the strength of their reputation I'm thinking of coughing up to have them on my planned MJT Strat. As well as on here, loads of people on Sevenstring.org seem to think they're brilliant too.

    What are they like? Why does everyone rave about them so much - are they that much better than normal frets?

    Also @digitalscream - agreed on the Stephens Extended Cutaway, brilliant piece of design.

    Just mega-slidey and stay shiny forever. Apparently add a smidge of zing to the top end too, but only my Cabronita has them, and it always has had, so I don't know what it would've sounded like without. That said, it has a slight zing that my others don't, so maybe that's the frets doing it. Either way, it feels and sounds great.

    They last ages, too.

    I'm definitely going to want a stainless fretted guitar some day.

    Thought of another I love: 6 point terms, and kill switches.

    Trying to work out how I can get a killswitch in to my build, but I might need a shadow kill pot...

    P90's. Les Paul Juniors.
     so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.
