Why the timestamp on the pics? isn't this saved in the meta data or are you old school and taking non-digital photos?

@RobDavies: Thanks Rob. Yes, I recall when you mentioned that you would be visiting NYC with your other half, and I posted up some hints, tips, and directions. I think that was during the MusicRadar days. I remember that you mentioned that my directions were accurate!!! IIRC, you also visited the West Coast with your entire family a couple of years later.

I booked this trip in July, and the weather from that far ahead was unpredictable. I recall walking about in a T-shirt on some days here in December 2015.

I traveled from London in a light Puffer Jacket without a Hood - the type that seems to be popular in Primark. I didn't want to bring a heavy woolen coat which would get crushed in an overhead locker on a plane. On the freezing cold days here, the Puffer Jacket over a roll-neck fleece and scarf were enough to keep me warm. I brought gloves, but didn't need them thus far, although on some days I could feel the "burning" sensation in my fingers.

My tip for anyone coming on a short break is to travel light and buy anything needed from Macy's, JC Penney, Old Navy, Target, etc.

On Monday, I went to the Green Acres Mall in Long Island on the Sunrise Highway.

I took the Q5 bus from Queens, but that particular bus was on a limited service and did not go all the way. It turned back to Queens at Rosedale LIRR Station. I was wondering why everyone was getting off. Fortunately, I got my bearings right and walked the half mile, or so, along the Highway to the Mall. Tip: always check the front of the bus for its destination - they don't always go all the way.

I was looking for a Club LX 1100 Steering Wheel Lock from Walmart, but they didn't have any. Neither did Sear's, or Home Depot. I plan to go to a local Pep Boys today to see if they have any in stock.

It felt mild yesterday, although when the sun went down, it felt nippy. Today is expected to get up to 10C, which is a minor heatwave here!!!

@RandallFlagg: The pictures are just point and shoot holiday snaps taken with a Panasonic DMC FS45 digital compact camera with no great thought put into framing and composition. This camera doesn't record meta-data. Long gone are the days when I used a Minolta 700Si 35mm camera (great camera which I still have). I would normally switch off the time-stamp when shooting, let's say, an artistic picture with a DSLR.
