MacOS VST host for Helix Native?

I'm back in the Helix fold and having some issues with connecting Helix to my audio interface over S/PDIF. This has got me thinking about why I'm bothering. I may look to get Native and run it rather than routing the Helix floor into the Mac.

For occasions when I don't want to run a full Logic session, is there a simple VST host for Mac that I can use to run Helix Native as standalone and play along to iTunes, YouTube etc..?

  • I've used AU Lab with some success:

    https://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/mastered-for-itunes/

I've not used it, but am considering looking at MainStage (under £30 from Apple)

  • If you already have Logic you've spent more time on this thread than it'd have taken to create a project that has one channel with an input and running Native.

I have a project on my desktop called 'practice'.  It has 2 channels, one for my guitar and one for my bass, I pick based on which I've plugged in.  Takes seconds to boot it up.

OK, I don't use Logic that often, can I play iTunes and Youtube in the background while it's running?

No latency issues whatsoever on the Mac, it isn't a PC ;)
