Sending to USA or abroad

Not sure this is the right section on here but here goes. What courier/delivery service do you guys use to send a parcel to USA from UK? Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of as I've never sent anything abroad before believe it or not

My company use www.parcel2go.com

They are great although we usually use Fedex or UPS as have not lost a parcel yet.
