Live Music Venues and agent of change bill next year

What's Hot
Was listening to John Spellar MP on Front Row (radio 4) last night.

He is doing a private members bill next year to get the law changed to make developers the agent of change when building houses near live music venues.

This means that the developers will have to pay for sound proofing rather than the burden falling on the venue as it does now.

Most interesting was was listening to him arguing with some bloke who represented the house builders association. He basically ripped him a new one. Good man. He seems like a proper conviction politician.

  • He seems like a proper conviction politician.
For now. Give him a few years and he'll be like all the rest.

Possibly. But he did seem to be genuinely passionate about live music.

I doubt it .. he's 70 years old now and first got into parliament in 1982 ... :-)

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

So he's still got another 25 years ahead of him coining it in the Lords if he plays his cards right.

Unlikely as Bruce Forsyth is dead .. ;-)

Spellar is a Labour MP and anti-the House of Lords so I doubt it.
