  • They distribute the weight of the chassis screws more evenly rather than all that weight being in 4 points. Some amps have plastic ones, some have lots of screws in different places instead, some probably don’t bother with the expense!

    Thats what I believe anyway...

    Yep, just a way of spreading the load on the screws the chassis hangs from. It's a Fender thing originally, adopted by Boogies.

    Fender started doing it because the bolts could pull through the soft pine cabs they used if the amp was thrown about. It’s not necessary with a ply cabinet as long as there’s a decent-sized cup washer under the bolt head, but it’s become traditional as a sign of quality.
