  • If a Marshall JMP-1 fell in the forest with no one around would it still make a noise?

Cos they're OLD as the hills (and most died long ago) and multitudes of betterer units came out since that cost less and do a more good'er job. Mostly folks only want  them for nostalgic reasons and to be a colour match in their rack for their JMP-1. Tis all about aesthetics really cos that's of ULTIMATE importance. I flirted with the idea myself when I first got my JMP-1 (also as old as the hills..but still pretty decent and not many others out there unlike rackmount FX untis). But I ditched that idea quickly when I found better for less.

Because they did not sell very well when they first came onto the market.

Why did they not sell well, I hear you ask?

Like many Marshall concepts, the JFX-1 was too little, too late and, in all probability, too expensive.

If I recall correctly, even though the JFX-1 responded to MIDI continuous controller messages, the typical Marshall luddite user would have had no use for this capability.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

^^yeah but, no but, yeah but its GOLD and aesthetically matches up with the GREAT JMP-1 when you has them both snuggled up "togever" in ya'rack! And every'wun knows that gold on gold = AMAZE TOANZ...so obvious you can see it even when they're both switched oFf. EveN.

  • If I remeber correctly it didn’t meet the CE standards which were introduced around its time so Marshall dropped it
