Are these replacement saddles for tuno matic bridges different to nylon saddles. Are there any similarities ?

They are much harder.  They will change the sound of the guitar but in a different way to the nylon saddles.  They will brighten up the sound a bit.  I find on a strat that they bring out some of the higher harmonics but can give them a bit to bright sound sometimes (depending on pickups and neck).  Having said that, I have them on rosewood necked instruments and I use a lot of Tusq nuts.
