  • Yes via Allianz.
    Same here, with Allianz
    It's not a competition.

  • No. IIRC my inn-sewer-ants requires notification of any item valued at > £2,5k and the rest is bundled as "contents"
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

  • Yes, I gig so it's a must for me as they won't be covered on my home/contents insurance.

  • Yes. Those I gig have their own insurance. Those I don't can stay as specified items on the house insurance.

Just wondering, would they be covered on house insurance if they were kept in an outdoor building?? I.e. a music shed??

    @spark240 ;

My Allianz insurance premium costs me about £300 a year or a bit less, and that is to insure £10K+ of equipment. Most is premises only, but some is "UK Wide and Unattended Vehicle".

In my experience they seem to value Guitars more than amps and expensive pedalboards etc. The cost is more to cover a Guitar outside of premises than an Amp Cab or even an Amp.

Gives you an idea of what they'll charge you though.

Yes, with Musicguard, because all the expensive stuff gets gigged.

I'm not particularly attached to any of my at home gear, general contents would be fine for me if the place burnt down.

New for old, so they’ll give you a nice shine 2017 LP Standard if your ‘59 Burst gets stolen? ;-)

Don’t have anything worth over 500 notes, or even upto 500, so covered with contents insurance. Don’t gig...
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

Covered at home on contents policy.  When I looked at a specialist scheme I decided not to bother.

I have lots of guitars, but I wouldn't normally take more than 2 or 3 out of the house in one go.  Worse case, I lose those, but I still have other ones that I could use.  Given the cost of the premiums, I've probably saved £5k (maybe more) over the years by not getting specialist insurance.

Hmmnnnnn ......... my 3 home made guitars are priceless to me, maybe I should get them listed on my house insurance as specific items and stick some kind of value on them

You may not need to list them specifically.  It does depend on the policy.  I checked with my home policy, and as long as the total value doesn't exceed the value of the policy they were ok.  Other policies I've had in the past have wanted items over £1.5k in value to be listed.
