SG wiring but with a single master tone

2 x volume, 1 x tone - How would one do that?

I'm a bit of a wiring thicky when it comes to logic/understanding. Do you just remove one pot and put wires from both to the same points on the tone pot?

You'll want to put the tone pot between the pickup selector and the output jack.  The middle wire from the switch will go straight to the output; put the wire on the middle lug of the tone pot, with the right lug soldered to ground with the cap.  Then from the middle lug, wire that to the tip of the jack.
