Mrs B surprised me with an EHX Battalion bass Preamp/DI pedal for Christmas.

It's one of the cheaper ones on the market and not a popular one so my expectations were reasonably low.

However, the range of features is very good and the Preamp/EQ section is really good. Most surprisingly though, the drive section is unbelievably good. 

For the money, if you are looking for a solution for recording bass tracks at home and want a decent Preamp with drive for a good range of classic tones then I highly recommend... it's good. Surprisingly good.
