Have any Fretboarders ever purchased an amp from Kingsley amplifiers ?

I was looking at Simon Jarrett's website for Kingsley amps and they seem to be amps of the highest quality. I would never buy a combo and I was looking at the heads they make. The 6v6 Bastion head just blew me away but sadly Kingsley are back ordered for 4 years, they must be doing something right.

Anyone ever made a purchase directly from Simon at Kingsley and how did it all go ?

4 years back order? Curious business model to strangle production that much...

Is there any reason why he wouldn't employ some people to get that leadtime down?

Exclusivity of build maybe? Some buyers expect their amps made by 'the man himself'.
    I think, therefore.... I... ummmm........

  • the bastion 20 head is $1000 and it sounds soooooooo good, pity about the 4 yr wait though

  • 4 year wait?

Bugger that. Imagine how much better you will play and sound if you just get another amp and spend those 4 years playing...

If someone told me a 4 year lead time, I'd never place an order, 4 years may as well be a lifetime these days.

It wouldn't particularly bother me, so long as that was the reason (Simon Jarrett building it himself).

I've become more patient as I head towards 50 and I have a lot of other gear to play in the meantime.

I've waited up to 2 years for custom guitars and fx in the past and am indeed doing so at present.
    I think, therefore.... I... ummmm........

I think it's a relatively new thing that Simon is soooo busy, and I think TPS and other exposure has given him the real kick that he so obviously deserves. I say this as I ordered a pedal direct from him a few years ago and it shipped within days - now there's a big wait for pedals too.

4 years sounds too long to me
Is he asking for a deposit?

Strange he prices in US Dollars when he's in Canada. I was thinking the prices looked pretty good in Candadian...

True, though I doubt anyone on the waiting list has given up playing guitar until it arrives.
