Will I destroy my speaker?

I currently have a Classic Lead 80 in my DSL401 and I wish to use it as a cab for my 2204 (so that I have a backup in the DSL or vice versa) but I am a little wary of the power handling of the speaker?

It has a supposed power rating of 80 watts but I would only be using the 2204 clean with drive coming from pedals. Keeping the preamp low (around 1 or so) and the master at about 5-6, would I be ok with the CL80 or should I consider swapping it for something like a Redback?

Classic Lead 80 will be fine. I used one in a cranked JCM 800 4010 (2204 combo) for years, no problems at all

The Classic Lead will easily handle a fully cranked 2204.

CL’s are really tough, I used to tour with them because they’re so reliable at volume.
