Why don't guitar shops stock more accessories?

I'm not going to buy a guitar every time I go into a shop but I'm a sucker for knick knacks, all the little pointless bits that make my life complete.

Sadly I often go into a shop and come out empty handed, money still in my pocket. Not because they don't have what I want but because there is nothing in there!

I’d imagine that stocking these “little pointless bits” add up to massive amounts of money. And as a retailer you can’t buy smaller items individually. Add on sale stuff usually has to be bought in multiples of 5,10, 20 +. Coupled with the fact that no one is spending what they used to anymore, for us to walk in and actually part with our money on them is a tall order. Having said that, I know one shop over here that is stuffed with that sort of thing because they primarily seller used guitars on commission so they’ll hit you with add on sales at the counter.
