Preamp pedal for Two notes torpedo CAB

I got the Torpedo CAB initially to improve the sound of my POD xt - this is DI-ing into a multitracker by the way, but I think it will sound much better with a decent modern preamp. So far I've only looked at the Two Notes range and the Effectrode Blackbird, there must be loads of others so any feedback/suggestions would be very welcome.

I have an AMT SS-11a and its awesome. 3 channels, 12ax7 valve and complete control over the EQ. I've used it with the Two Notes CAB live and it really was an excellent sound. It has an fx loop if required too.

Been down this route myself and the Kingsley squire/jouster are good but the Blackbird is a bit better I think. All perfectly useable though.

The Kingsley Squire is OK but fairly bland, I think by all accounts the Blackbird tramples all over it

I have an AMT P2. Haven’t tried it direct but through a power amp it does a good modern high gain sound, in this case modelled on a Peavey 5150. They do other models too. I think @digitalscream has had a few of them in the past
