Got me some Hercules wall hangers

What's Hot

Five of the wooden block ones (GSP38WB) that most folk here seem to swear by.
Nice bits of kit for sure but I hadn't realised how far off the wall it makes guitars hang, there's a good 4-5" gap between wall and guitar. I thought they'd be a lot 'neater' as they are going to be above the spare bed.
I haven't drilled any holes yet, just held them in situ to see how they look.

Did/does it bother anyone else?

If they are accidentally knocked it stops them bashing against the wall... so no

Also, if too close an acoustic would rub up against the wall..

Are you just hanging electrics? The gap will reduce to about 2" with acoustic guitars.

  • Sorry to potentially hijack your thread but with these wall hangers are the guitars at risk of sunlight bleaching? It happened to my piano (which I can't really put in a case!) so a bit wary of using these though they seem a useful way to store them in low storage spaces

I already thought about the acoustic side of things so tried my dreadnought out but there's still plenty of clearance. Dunno, just thought it would be a neater fit than it is. Ah well!

I’ve actually put two up today and had exactly the same thought that you have. Now they’re up and I’m not looking from that ‘holding it to the wall perspective’ it’s absolutely fine in my book.

Not where I'm putting them, no.

    Not just me then? Phew!
I started a 'guitar wall' thread a few weeks back and hadn't noticed the big gap from the pics posted.

  • I thought the same, until I knocked them a couple of times and my strat swung.....but didn't hit the wall.

If you’ve got any Les Paul type stuff, you’ll probably be pretty glad you have as much clearance as you do.

This aspect has never been a problem for me. I think if it was snug to the wall it might not be as easy to grab the neck.

The one I have hanging right next to my door gets knocked sometimes but as was said before it doesn't clatter the wall.

I bought some and thought the same before putting them up, so I returned them.  My hanger of choice (Bespeco F15) is pretty basic, but I've got eight installed and all have been reliable for years.  Not much good for most acoustics though, but my Yamaha APX-3 is fine as it has a shallow depth.

I embraced the problem and hung artwork that goes well or means something to me behind each guitar.
