    The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

    The body has a lot of gretsch about it but the neck and head really don’t.

    Was a strange one for sure. The body looked like a 6120, although the flame top didn’t look quite like any TM model I’d seen. Seemed like Filters and had the right switch layout, including the Mud Switch. 

    The neck was all wrong though, typical Chinese fake with the inlays too shallow, the logo and machine heads all wrong and a black plastic nut 

    I’ll wager it’ll turn up somewhere else soon enough.
