I've owned an HK tubemeister 18 head and cab for about 4 years now and so far no issues. Gigged it and rehearsals loads.

I had an 18W Tubemeister head and was thoroughly underwhelmed by it - the cleans weren't 'pristine' clean (even at low volumes) and the overdrive wasn't organic at all.

    Looked good though.

a pristine clean isnt what i want, that tele neck pickup into a warm clean with a bit of grit is more my bag. my concern over the lead channel is a boss ds1 buzzsaw top end i keep hearing, i wonder how much of this is because it uses el84 tubes ?

if only fender made a drri head version, then my amp search would be over.

Just buy a DRRI and get a head shell made.

Erm - they made one for a while. They come up occasionally!

Other wise how about a Supersonic 22 head?
