NGD Telecaster Deluxe model

Hello!

I've managed to snag myself a sunburst telecaster (my second) but this time it's the deluxe version, as for sale on this very forum.

The pickguard was to bling even for me, so I swapped it out for the one that was on my standard, and put a black one on the standard, which I now thinks looks bad ass mean.

Here's a proud Dad's new baby pics and a quick question regarding the strap locks, I took them off as I'm not convinced of them just yet and noticed a white crusty deposit under the felt washer that protects the body from the button, its like a blemish a bit further out, the whitening just past and below the button, what is it?

Yes that's what's really drawn me to these, the necks are sublime. The deluxe needs a lot more playing to catch up with the standard in terms of feel. Any ideas about the unsightly blemish under the strap buttons?

Have you tried removing the residue with a damp rag? Or with some guitar polish? If it still won’t come off maybe spray a little WD40 on a rag and rub the stain very carefully with that, and immediately wipe afterwards with a clean cloth. If none of those work then I would just live with it.

and/or a touch of T-Cut or similar with a slight cutting compound

I have to say. That's a cracking Tele.
Classic sunburst, maple fingerboard, binding and six saddles. Ticks every box for me.
