The NOS germanium components inside this very simple pedal with a beautiful hand painted enclosure and easy access battery compartment produces a treble boost, an overdrive, a fuzz?.....
Ok, it's a bit of all 3 and dependent upon the guitar volume. Here is the trick with 8 volume giving a smoother original signal, 9 brings in the rough edges and louder signal, 10 provides the drive.
This pedal should be used with a driven amp to further push it but even with a clean amp I got some incredible 60s breakup overdrive.
I understand there exists also a JimiGold and more commonly a JimiRed, which is considered the favourite by players. The only one local to me was the JimiBlack.
Although it runs from 9v psu, a battery is recommended for the variations as it slowly dies. I accidentally left it on all weekend, and yes the difference is noticeable; both battery states sound great.
Anyone else had any experience?
