James Bay - Chaos and the Calm
Their debut is actually great, it's got "Powder Blue" on it and is called "Asleep at the Back"

Can't remember which came first for Deep Purple MkII In Rock or Concerto for Group and Orchestra? Either would be a worthy contender for a significantly different lineup.
Wasn't aware that Talk To Your Daughter was a first for Robben Ford.
As for Dire Straits first, I bought it because I'd enjoyed Love Over Gold and its predecessor so I went in the shop and got the first two. The second wasn't that brilliant and the first was just boring JJ Cale knock-off - of which I'd heard more than enough from Mr Clapton.
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself
There were a few earlier ones, I can remember looking at the covers in record shops. A couple of them played on the fact that he could play saxophone as well as guitar (eg Schizophonic).
But I think it would be true to say that Talk To Your Daughter really launched his career as we know it.
ZZTop’s First Album
Dire Straits Self Titled
Devin Townsend - Ocean Machine (not really a debut but his first proper solo album after Cooked on Phonics and early SYL)
Black Sabbath Self Titled
Led Zep Self Titled
This is one hell of an opening track. Their sound hits you square in the face immediately. Sounds like early Weezer if they were fronted by Robin Zander and had the Beach Boys singing backing vocals.
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden
Evanescence - Fallen
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin

it was a weird festival, all the bands I went to see I was disappointed with and then bands like Silver Sun and Sneaker Pimps were just awesome
