To be fair, these amps are completely handmade to the highest possible standards and sound amazing from what I could glean from the few clips available. But, yeah, that‘s a LOT of money.

I have two hand made amps built to the highest standards and sound fantastic. One of them cost me half that amount the other even less. What hasn't helped is the pound against the dollar probably but still outrageously priced :(

  • I Like Mark's stuff, but man these are insanely expensive...

  • Jeeeeez, yeah. Pricey indeed .

I mean, if it really CAN deliver authentic tweed, blackface, AC30 and Plexi tones in one box then it could be seen as a bit of a bargain I suppose, the only problem is I've never heard an amp that can do that. Hopefully he's dealt with the sometimes strident top end his amps can have too.

He designs a very fine cab, though. I'd love to hear one of these things, I have to admit.

Looking at the spec. the only thing I can see which is a little usual is the transformer coupled PI, which is not common in guitar amps - the Fender Musicmaster bass is one that springs to mind, it would be interesting to understand the reasoning. In the Hi-Fi world they are generally used to minimise distortion in the PI stage, extra weight and cost not being considered major obstacles .

I was opposite both Bartel and Two Rock at NAMM. I have to say it was a pleasure to listen to both of these companies amps, they were fantastic. MarK was a lovely guy to chat to as well. That being said, the UK price is high

Shockingly expensive but.... relatively speaking a working musician (or young person) may find a fender deluxe reverb more expensive than a well heeled blues grandad would one of these Bartel creations.

A bit ney, a lot disappointed with these. Have watched several vids along their development route and they don't do anything for me at all. Even less so the aesthetic. I like Tweed tones (!) but these sound a bit soul-less compared to the Tone King offerings. Price is 2x too much too.
