Patch box option

Just choosing one.
Cable In sockets can be either side or top mount, meaning cables would be horizontal or vertical.
Vertical = sticking up and more vulnerable to getting kicked and bent? horizontal better? Its a gigging board and all my cables are straight connectors

I had this dilemma too - I'd rather they were horizontal so they can't get kicked etc, but depending on positioning on your board might mean that having the cables coming out the side doesn't fit.

You should decide exactly where you want to position the patch box before deciding on which option to go for

I prefer vertical because the plugs. are less likely to get trodden on.

I went for the horizontal, and mounted underneath my board - check out my recent thread on FX about my pedalboard rebuild

I use right angled plugs on my board, so my patchbox has one row of side mounted jacks (from the pedals) and one row top mounted (to the amp).

I've got an angled board, so I mount mine underneath- more room on top for pedals.

Top mounted AND underneath? I def dont have enough room for that.
