Zoom G3 switch problem

the first footswitch on this is playing up, it can take a couple of presses to turn it on and same to tun it off. ive tried squirting switch cleaner around the top hoping some would seep through the gap but hasnt really helped. are these switches cleanable if i open the box up and access it or do i need to take it to a repairer (if its even economical to repair)
