Fender Hank Marvin sig Strat SOLD

Popping up for trade my Hank Marvin Fender Strat. Made in Japan, limited to 1,500 pieces or so, and generally very nice indeed.

It’s the usual late fifties spec with a single ply guard, one piece soft V neck and era typical headstock and logo. It’s finished in the rather fetching Flamingo Pink colour and overall is in very good condition. There are a couple of dings I’ve tried to show, but nowt serious. Trem arm is present and correct too, although not shown as I don’t tend to install it. Only just back from a set up and a fret dress, so plays great.

I’m looking ideally for an SG – hums or p90ies, I don’t mind, not am I particularly fussed about the colour either. Would consider SG derivatives too - so mahogany DC bodies with a fixed bridge, but without a carved top.

Happy to add cash for the right guitar, or accept cash to top up a deal for a cheaper one.  

No hardcase with this (they didn’t come with one) so we’d need to meet up in central London / Essex.

would also sell for £400. Got to be a bargain for a ltd edition Japanese Strat.

Quite interested in this. I know it's a soft V profile, but is it nice and deep or similar to the MIM classic necks. Measurements at the 1st and 12th would be perfect.

It’s relatively chunky at the 1st fret - more so than my 02 US standard Strat. I’m a historic Gibson player usually and don’t really like thin necks, but this one feels nice to me; although of course slimmer than your normal r7.

i can’t compare it to MIM classic i’m afraid as I’ve never tried one, and the measurements I give are approximate as I don’t have calipers. So at the first: 25mm, at the 12th: between 23 and 24. I should say that the soft V shape neck is most prominent until the 5th fret, after which it rounds out to more of a C, but with a hint of V all the way up.

I ought also to mention that the bodies on the HMs are ash, as I understand it, making it a little unusual in the context of typical Strat specs outside the CS.

Sounds great, thats a chunky neck by fender standards. If possible can you give me the overall weight - if it's not a boat anchor I'll take it! I would have to organise a courier to get it to Liverpool.

No, not a boat anchor by any means. My bathroom scales (not digital I’m afraid so are doubtful 100% perfect) show it to be 6.6 lbs, so a nice light weight.

Lets chat over PM about me getting it to you, provided the weight is still something you’re happy with.
