NGD Inca Silver ‘63 style custom build Tele

I decided to build my own Inca Silver machine, inspired by this lovely 2005 Custom Shop ‘63 Tele. http://www.guitarsandeffects.com/f000224fenderincasilver63tele.html

The objective was to get close to the look of the Custom Shop ‘63, a light relic/closet classic look.

The body is a new 2 piece alder 2kg 60s style finish was by Jon Rexter-Crawford (jrextercrawford@gmail.com) rexter http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/profile/discussions/9895/rexter.Jon is a delight to work with and I think his finishing is top notch.

Neck is a 21 year old Fender CIJ ’62. Weight about.625kg. With original nickel Fender kluson style tuners. I sanded down the original finish, rolled the fretboard edges. The rosewood was already this dark. This is a nicely proportioned neck, similar proportions to the ‘60s Classic and Player neck, not as slim as the early MIJs.

Pickups are Fender Pure Vintage ’64 aged by me. The bridge is a used USA Fender vintage with compensated 3 saddle. Pickguard is a new, “60's Greenish Tele Guard” from Crox’s Guitars http://www.croxguitars.com.  New nickel knobs, aged by me, CTS pots, switchcraft Mono Jack Socket 1 x Cornell Dubilier "Orange Drops" Caps.

Cost of all parts around £680. Not cheap, but when new poly finish Bajas here are around £815 it’s a steal for something that’s unique and hand finished.

It sounds very like my Pure vintage ’64, a little warmer likely due to brass saddles. A couple of things still to do: I need shorter screws and there are 3 or 4 high frets that are annoying and need crowning.

Nice work. I had an Inca Silver US standard Strat at one time, it had a more greeny tinge to the silver than yours. Could be the lighting I guess?

That's bloody gorgeous. Inca is an utterly fantastic colour yet somehow hardly ever gets used.

    Looks good sir
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Very nice, the early CIJ necks are great.  The neck shape is almost exactly the same as my December 60 Strat neck.  So much so that I ended up buying one back in the 90's, as my first Tele (I still have it).
