String change

What's Hot
(Sighs) I am ashamedly asking for help on changing string......

New guitar has a groove as opposed to a hole in the tuning peg - is there a technique for fitting the string at the top?

(So embarrassed to be asking this - just never owned a guitar like this before)

Unless you're meaning a different style to I'm thinking of there should also be a hole in the middle of the top (in the slot) that you stick the end of the string in then bend it out to the side through the slot and wind from there.

I wish I had those type of tuners cause I think they look cool but I don't think any would fit on my guitars without drilling new holes and I can't be bothered with that.

These are the best kind of tuners.

Ah!!! Yes - there is a hole. I didn't notice that. Makes things a whole lot easier. Much appreciated.

Cut the string approx 2 inches, or 2 tuners, past the post.  I.e for the low e cut it at the d stringtuner.

Put the end of the string in the hole.  Tune up.

I always find them much easier to restring, and the sharp end is hidden away, not sticking 2-3mm out from the side of the post.
