Why hasnt radio changed?

Lyric FM is a very good station that outputs lots of good interesting music at decent sound quality. They have some artsy 'Shows' music which I cannot stand but most of their music is good to very good.

RTE Radio 1 is mainly a chat and news affairs radio channel. By far the most listened to channel in ROI.

RTE Radio 2  is mainly a channel that outputs mind numbing pop drivel, probably aimed at the younger teenage market. No relevance to most people here.

There are a lot of commercial stations, most surprisingly conservative in their music output. One station was 100% Country when it started. I listened to it a lot, then suddenly it became the same as everyone else. I stopped listening to it.

Other than Lyric or RTE 1, I prefer music on CD.

If anyone had a Sonos speaker/s , they are amazing for finding really specialist and obscure stations.
If you search through the Tuneit radio on the app and you type in for example blues or Rockabilly you will be given a list of lads of indie stations that are purist stations of that form of music.
