NGD: 1960 Epiphone Century

Picked this beauty up yesterday, a late-1960 Century with single-P90 in sunburst.
The bridge is a replacement but the rest is completely original. P90 measures 8.7k and personifies 'woody' tone.
The neck is a medium-C, unlike the earlier chunky soft-V types, super comfortable and the body resonates beautifully, it's a joy to play.

And as @ThorpyFX pointed out, it was less money than a USA Strat

    Very nice.

You are now obliged to wear a hat when playing it :).

Deliberately stayed away from the red (Royal Burgundy) ones for that reason ;)

The Century has just about the loveliest body shape of any Kalamazoo thinline, I do reckon.

Correct, although a set of 11s feel really slinky on it which is great. I went for a wound-g.

Not far off a Casino on the neck pickup, definitely same ballpark.

Hasn't he openly admitted that he's no longer 'that guy with the hat', and that he's into electronic music now? Centuries are out and Korgs are in!

All jokes aside, it's a lovely score ;-)

I love the violin burst and how the finish has sunk into the wood.

Load up with some heavy string, detune to E flat and bingo!

Would an aged black P90 cover look better though?
