Ok it's a Squier, but is it a good or bad one? For sale on my local Facebook.
Big headstock and random red knobs, can anyone advise? My gut is telling me it's a cheap entry level model but I could be wrong.

Looks to be a fabled 1987 Squier red-knob - very rare.

Affinity series. You can just see the 'A' at the start on the headstock.

Cheap entry-level model. And missing a bridge saddle...

Affinity, one up from entry level but low down the pecking order.  Ceramic pickups I think.

I thought it might be an old Affinity. Ah well, I'll give it a miss then.
    Cheers

I bought a standard as a modding platform which has alnico pickups in.  Standard and upwards have gold logos rather than black I think.

Mines fine, I changed the wiring, pickups and saddles but it was fine anyway.

Affinity is the entry level, then the SE which has a full width body, then the standard.

If it’s going for £60-70 then it’s worth it. Cracking guitars for the money. Loads of my students had them. I couldn’t get over how well they played. Replace the saddle @icbm pointed out and it’s a winner.

A lot less than that! But I don't need another guitar and have no GAS for it, the price and the CBS headstock are what caught my eye and if it had been a secret gem (like the Ibanez Blazer I bought off facebook) then I'd have jumped at it.

Oh god yeah, forgot about those, so many entry level guotars within an entry level guitar brand!
