NGD: Hooked on a Feline

What's Hot

Slight sense of unreality about this, but after a 5 hour round trip I've finally got my trembling, sweaty mitts on this: the Feline Lion Supreme Slash 2.

First impressions?  Simply stunning.  The build quality and attention to detail are the best I've ever played, Custom Shop jobs and all the rest of it included.  Neck slightly wider than my Fenders but reasonably slender front to back, so even my delicate poet's hands can find their way around the board.  Jumbo frets will take a bit of getting used to but in no way impeding play.  Oil City Tubesnake pickups give that fat PAF sound that my neighbours love so well.  LOVE the finish too: bit lighter than a tobacco sunburst: hickory burst, perhaps?  Even the binding is a bit special, with a sort of wavy pattern in it.

And that upper neck heel... *swoon*

With thanks to the Enablers-in-Chief.  They know who they are :)

On that note, aren’t the G & B strings strung the wrong way around the posts?

    Lovely looking guitar btw!

Wow I've been playing 30 odd years and never realised there was a right and wrong way tp wind the strings round the posts !

I must admit it's sometimes annoying when for example you think - hmm the g sounds a touch flat and you tweak it only to find out you've flattened it even more. It's these sorts of surprises however that keeps a chap on his toes and life crazily unpredictable.

Yeah - we tried it slightly further back because it works well on the blackmachine  guitars we make - sounds a touch warmer. Worked well sound wise on this guitar.
