So far the bling colours and accoutrements of the core PRS range haven't floated my boat, but I love the understated appearance of the S2s, and they play well too. If you can call the violent green of my Starla understated!

The playability is topnotch on them, the only change I've done is upgrading pickups and electronics (BKP holy diver & cold sweat in the 24 / crawler ordered for vela, which I've only had a month or so). I've wanted a core for aslong as I can remember, but always lacked the funds. Then I get out on a gigging cycle, love playing the S2, beat the crap out of it and add more dings and scratches, and realise I don't need a core.

Peach had some relic DGT goldtops done several years ago too.  The Rick Hannon finish is supposed to resemble an old surfboard

Lots of lovely colours indeed. That Aquamarine Burst is possibly my favourite colour of theirs, shame it's not available on regular models.

Conversely, this is possibly the absolute ugliest I've seen - Green Mash apprently...

The Aquamarine Burst on my guitar was dark, very very dark.  It looked great in bright light but not so good most of the time.

Yeah, same can be said for a lot of blue guitars...shame it's my favourite colour on them!

What was special about the 408? I don't know much about them, must be good to have so many!

It's all about the pickups - the guitar is basically a McCarty with 408 pickups.  I have several of them, most with 25" scale necks but the Apricot is 594-spec (24.594").  Rainforest has a sinker mahogany neck, the matching pair have Pernambuco necks and Apricot has a Chaltecoco neck.  So all variations on a 408 theme.

My main gigging guitar is the bluer one of the pair, which has dents/dings/buckle rash, so they're not all trophy guitars for dentists, doctors and lawyers (of which I'm not one either)
