Feline NGD - Dr Hu ?

This is a guitar we have built for someone who has become a regular customer over the last few years . 

He commissioned this guitar as a reward to himself for completing his Doctorate at Imperial College. 

The customer (Mathieu Hu) and I used to joke that his life might change once he became Doctor Hu.

We even collaborated on a cool truss rod cover design (I suggested a twist on the BBC logo for Dr Who)

We made a Lion Supreme with a slimmer neck to match other guitars Mathieu has (still 3 piece quarter-sawn mahogany)

The fingerboard is Ebony with big Dunlop 6000 frets

A lightly quilted maple cap under an aqua blue burst finish



We went with a satin finish on the rear. Cover plates are anodised aluminium with laser etching on the larger one.

Sperzel tuners keeping things in tune



Abalone topped knobs. Push /push pots under the tone controls for phase reversal, and a series parallel option for both pickups.

Kind of like the Jimmy Page Les Paul and then some.... to give a multitude of sounds

The Seymour Duncan triple shot rings helped simplify this a lot

The truss rod cover in place.  Earvana nut too!

Oh - we got some printed guitar picks made for him too....
